Day Long Radio Fund Raiser to Boost the Arts & Entertainment
A major initiative to raise funds to assist budding young musicians, and those seeking careers in the Arts & Entertainment field,will take shape this month through the medium of radio.
The Family Aid Charitable Trust with the cooperation of the Bermuda Entertainment Union presents the “Campaign to support the Arts”—a day long radiothon to support the "Leroy A. Simmons Entertainment Scholarship," and local Gospel Sensation “Last Call”.
Magic FM radio station of Inter-Island Communications will host this six hour fund raiser featuring leading announcers at Inter-Island
Nikita Robinson, and Qian "Qianeman" Dickinson, along with guest host Patrina "Power-girl" Paynter.
Join Magic 102.7 May 18th when Nikita Robinson launches the fund raiser with a series of pledges and on line interviews with Bermudian entertainers on location in London; New York, Boston, And L A.
Listeners will hear from renowned producer Fred Jerkin who will outline the journey of Last Call, and musicians and entertainers around the island tell the story of the Bermuda entertainment scene.
Listeners will be invited to have their say and pledge for the cause.
Executive Producer Rick Richardson commended Inter-Island chief Glenn Blakeney for supporting the initiative and said the community will be called on to support the Arts and Entertainment Industry.
Organizers will release banking and pledge-line phone information in the week ahead.
Once again the Radiothon to support the Arts & Entertainment Industry takes place May 18th 12 noon to 6 pm on Magic 102.7 FM radio.
