Experience a powerful story rooted in heritage and imagination in Thoughts Become Things—a poetic six-minute short film that follows a young Bermudian Gombey on a breathtaking journey as he encounters his ancestors. This artistic work beautifully captures the essence of the Bermuda Gombey and Bermudian culture in a way never seen before.
Since its completion, the film has traveled the globe, selected by 17 international film festivals across 11 countries, winning 9 awards along the way. Its subtitles have been translated into Spanish and Japanese, connecting Bermudian culture to audiences worldwide.
This special evening, held in partnership with BUEI, will feature the final public screening of the short film before its official YouTube release in August. Audiences will also be treated to the world premiere of Decoding Thoughts—a behind-the-scenes mini documentary that dives deep into the story, themes, and creative journey behind the film.
Following the screenings, guests are invited to a cultural reception with wine, hors d’oeuvres, and a special performance recreating a key moment from the film.
