Nominated for Best Musician of the Year at the 2015 Zimbabwean International Women's Awards
“… joy seems central to Nobuntu's existence: it's present in their glorious singing, their expressive dancing, even in their dress - plaids, stripes, florals in colours as exuberant as their vocals.” -cltampa.com
A female a cappella quintet from Zimbabwe, has drawn international acclaim for its inventive performances that range from traditional Zimbabwean songs to Afro Jazz to Gospel. The ensembles are performed with purely their voices and only augmented by minimalistic percussion, traditional instruments such as the Mbira (thumb piano) and authentic dance movements. The ensemble’s mission is the belief that music can be an important vehicle for change, one that transcends racial, tribal, religious, gender and economic boundaries- perfect for this Festival’s message, “Come Together”.
Opening: Derek G & Hannah Buschara, winner of 2019 Singer-Songwriter Competition
