In recognition of Black History Month, Titan Express is offering the Black Icons-Friendly Society Tour on Saturday, February 15th at 2:00pm to 4:00pm. A spokesperson said, “The stories and contributions of the Friendly Societies is of outmost significant importance to the history and era of Black excellence in Bermuda. We encourage people to come out with family and friends and learn about these stories that helped shape Bermuda’s history. Enjoy a brief bus tour in the City of Hamilton as we share stories of the Friendly Societies and their contributions before, during, and after Emancipation and within the community, along with their involvement and contribution to the game of Cup Match. Included is also a visit to the Alexandrina Lodge in Hamilton, in which Friendly Society members will share a presentation of the rich history of the lodges and their legacy and impact in the community over the centuries.
