The Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard (BACD), a registered charity, was established in 1984 by a group of local artists. Their vision was for a venue where artists could work as well as exhibit: encouraging a high standard of work through interaction, education and exhibitions.

The Bermuda Arts Centre offers a wide selection of locally created art (with exhibitions changing every month), three working studios with Artists present to talk to visitors and the largest selection of local prints on the Island. In addition, their Gift Shop area offers a large variety of locally created Bermuda gifts with ceramics, jewellery, banana dolls, wood carvings, and much more. The Bermuda Arts Centre's motto "If it isn't created in Bermuda, we don't carry it."

The Arts Centre relies on funds raised from Gallery exhibits, workshops and donations in order to survive.
