Catherine Burns (Beat the Couch Founder) and Ola Rosinska, along with our amazing members of Beat the Couch, are taking on the slightly ridiculous task of pushing the infamous Couch all the way from St Georges to Hamilton in this years May 24th Half Marathon Derby. That's 13.1 very hilly miles in what is widely accepted as the most humid race of the year! Chosen by Ola, it's all to raise funds for Bermuda's Women's Resource Centre, which provides counseling, education, training, referrals and access to community services for women in need.
They've recently added a Leadership & Development Program for girls and young women, which complements existing workshops on parenting, healthy relationships and self-esteem (among others.) Catherine and Ola are running the whole distance with the support of two Beat the Couch relay teams. So there will be four pairs of hands on the couch at all times.... yet it's no easy task. The couch has never been pushed further than 3 miles before. It's heavy, the weather will be sweaty, the course is hilly beyond belief and so we would all be really grateful for your support! Your sponsorship would mean the world to us and will get us through the tough spots on the day.
Please donate! THANK YOU!!
Beat The Couch runners include: Kate Cabral, Deborah Corbishley, Stephen Roberts, Tracey Beach, Erica Leseur, Kelsey Wotton and Liz Batten. Also helping, Sofie Vandenbohede.
